House Kanzaki[]

House Kanzaki is one of the four great houses prominent on the island of Kirijima, playing a crucial role in the political and judicial system of the Empire. Its members are high-ranking judges, bureaucrats, and other legal authorities who work directly with the Shogun to uphold the law and promote justice.

Judicial Role and Collaboration with the Empress[]

House Kanzaki is renowned for its close collaboration with the Shogun. Although their home is not in the capital, the head of the family is always present at the imperial court, serving as a judge or deputy. This proximity to the Shogun's highlights the significance and influence of House Kanzaki within the Empire.

Patron[]

The patron of House Kanzaki is Byakko, the White Tiger. This mythical creature symbolizes courage, strength, and justice, qualities highly valued by House Kanzaki. Representing the autumn season and the element of metal, Byakko embodies both physical power and spiritual purity. The Kanzaki family honors Byakko through various rituals and ceremonies, viewing him as a vital part of their cultural heritage and a constant reminder to uphold courage and integrity in all aspects of life.

Allies[]

The Kanzaki family maintains a close relationship with the Shirakami family, who not only teach members of the Kanzaki household but also grant them access to their extensive library. This collaboration underscores their shared commitment to knowledge and tradition. Furthermore, it's noteworthy that Ryo Kanzaki, the current family head, is married to a member of the Shirakami family, further solidifying their alliance.

Military Strength and Martial Arts[]

House Kanzaki possesses the second-largest military force among all families on Kirijima, further emphasizing their influence and power. Their warriors are known for their combat style using Nodachi and Odachi, large two-handed weapons that require both strength and skill.

Conflict with the Tajikara Family[]

House Kanzaki stands in stark opposition to the Tajikara family. This conflict has intensified recently due to the Tajikara's frequent violations of the law through war crimes and general brutality. The Kanzaki see it as their duty to address these transgressions and uphold justice, leading to a deep-seated enmity between the two families.

Attack on Asagawa Castle[]

The Kurosaki Clan, a branch family of House Tajikara and composed of Shinobi, launched an attack on the Asagawa Castle complex. They set the castle ablaze and killed several soldiers. Their objective was to assassinate at least one important member of the Kanzaki family. Haruka Kanzaki, the elder sister of Ryoichi Kanzaki, was killed before Ryoichi's eyes as he lay half-dead and severely injured on the ground while attempting to defend her. The order for the attack came from House Tajikara, although this remains a secret. The motive for the attack was the death of Goro Tajikara at the hands of Ryo Kanzaki.

The Stolen Family Artifact[]

A dark chapter in the history of House Kanzaki is the theft of their family artifact by Ryoichi. This artifact held not only symbolic value but was also a sign of their power and heritage. The loss of this artifact has deeply affected the family, and they are determined to reclaim it.
